Innovation Park

At a City of Wauwatosa Common Council meeting on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, zoning and the preliminary site plan for Innovation Park was passed.  The Committee recommended approval 8-0 that a portion of the Milwaukee County grounds at the northeast corner of Hwy. 45 and Watertown Plank Road be rezoned from a Medical Center and Institutions District to Business Planned Development District.  A portion of the northeast quadrant will also be rezoned as a Conservancy District.  The preliminary site plan was passed 13-2.   

Innovation Park, LLC (UWM Real Estate Foundation sole member) signed an offer to purchase an 88 acre parcel on the northeast quadrant of the Wauwatosa County Grounds on July 1, 2009. This property will be used to develop a graduate level engineering campus. Its close proximity to the Medical College and the Milwaukee County Research Park will help to foster innovative research and collaboration.
